City Barn Flood Gate Replacement Project
City of Slidell, LA
Department of Engineering
Project Budget: $550,000
HDCA is currently in the design phase of this project which involves the rehabilitation of the City Barn Flood Control Structure by replacement of three (3) existing sluice gates and the addition of motor actuators for the gates.
For this project, H. Davis Cole & Associates, LLC (HDCA) will execute the project in two phases – Procurement Phase and Installation Phase.
Procurement Phase:
Due to scheduling requirements for the expenditure of State of Louisiana Grant funds, HDCA will develop Procurement Documents for public bid for direct purchase of the sluice gates and motor operators by the City. The procurement documents will detail the requirements for the materials to be purchased.
Installation Phase:
Once the primary materials have been procured, HDCA will provide Contract Documents (Plans and Specifications) for the installation of the procured materials. This will include the provision of electrical power to the facility for the motor actuators, installation of the gates themselves, and design of sheet pile cofferdam systems (if necessary) to allow for the dewatering of the facility as required for the installation of the gates.
